Social Media House Rules
Sharing our news and behind the scenes stories on social media platforms is a great way for the Yorkshire and Humber Community of Research Practice to give you an insight into the work that we do here and the impact this has on patients and our communities. We also enjoy hearing your own stories and feedback as you interact with us.
It’s important to make sure that everyone has a positive and safe experience online and so below are our House Rules:
- Please comply with each social media platform’s own Terms of Use, which outlines how you and we are allowed to use the platform.
- Please don’t post images of our staff or patients, unless they have given explicit permission to be included in your post.
- Be mindful of your privacy and the privacy of others online – don’t share personal details and be careful of what might be shown in the background of your images or videos that might breach the privacy of others.
- Please be respectful and kind. With such broad audiences and life experiences, everyone has different opinions and we post with that in mind. We ask that any comments or discussion on our channels is respectful to other people who use our platforms, including our staff and volunteers.
- For anyone posting abusive, discriminatory, harassing or other content that is unlawful or threatening, or any comments of this nature, we reserve the right to hide your post, report your behaviour to the associated social media platform and to any relevant authorities. We may also block your account. This includes posting persistent negative or abusive posts designed to provoke a response.
- Please don’t spread false information or any information that you are not sure of. And please don’t spam our accounts with unrelated content.
- Anyone who does not adhere to our House Rules may have their comments hidden or removed and will not receive a response to direct messages or be blocked.
